About Me

  • I’m profoundly uninterested in exposing my identity and/or personal details to the internet and having my employers / grandchildren discover random unsavoury facts about me in twenty years’ time.  (Thus rendering slightly wobbly the entire point of having an “about me” page.)
  • I think that the internet is the best invention since the wheel, but I wouldn’t want to eat the whole of it.
  • Nothing gets my temper fired up faster than someone telling someone else what they can or can’t believe.
  • While we’re on the subject, I believe that the universe is (to borrow a line) not only stranger than we imagine, but stranger than we can imagine.  I believe a bunch of other stuff too, but: see my first point.
  • I work with computers.  But doesn’t everyone?  Mostly I seem to spend my working hours complaining about cowboy software houses.
  • I have a wife and a daughter, and I think they don’t get enough of my time.  But then again, neither do I.
  • For fun and when possible, I cook; read SF; enthuse about Linux; fiddle with computers (different ones to the ones I work with); and design games.  I also write SF, but I start a hell of a lot more stories than I finish.  No-one in their right mind would want to read a story I wrote or play a game I designed.  But that’s not the point.
